Deployable Container Canopy

Custom Covers were asked by a local vehicle specialist to help them design and manufacture a deployable canopy for a special service container.

The requirement was to provide a weathertight enclosure that could be deployed once the container was fixed on to the deck of a ship at sea.

The covered area then had to allow for the passage of cables for inspection and repair activities

Various design iterations were completed and the final design allowed the canopy to hinge, complete with its cover, from the container roof. it is then fastened securely to the working platform.

The fully deployed canopy gives a considerably increased working area protected from the elements. The lack of any vertical support structure making the handling of the cables easy and safe.
