Fabric selection is a key component in any tensile fabric project. Modern fabrics are highly engineered and versatile and allow the designer to utilise their properties to achieve the desired look and feel.

• Transparent fabric gives a continuity between inside the structure and out
• Translucent fabrics give a diffuse natural light with light shade
• Opaque or block out fabrics allow the lighting within a space to be fully controlled.

Fabrics are available in different weights and with different types of base cloth.

A range of typical fabrics used:

• PVC coated Polyester, weights from 500 gsm to 1000 gsm
• Canvas & Poly Canvas weights from 450 gsm to 700 gsm
• Acrylic weights from 150 to 450 gsm
