Since achieving accreditation, by Lloyd's Register Quality Assurance (LRQA), in the ISO 9001:2000 back in August 2006, Custom Covers has embraced the concepts behind the ISO certification and is now pleased to have updated this accreditation to ISO 9001:2008.
The adoption of the quality management system was a strategic decision, the design and implementation of which was influenced by the various needs and objectives, products and services and the size and structure of the company. As the company has increased its' size and changed its' structure over time, the accreditation has been a driving force in ensuring that the changes did not alter the Customer driven products and services provided.
By embracing the ISO accreditation throughout the company it has allowed the company not to be just a bureaucratic entity, stifling flexibility and creativity, but to include these ideals and to ensure that they are controlled through the systems, thus offering a value adding service to the standard offerings of any manufacturing company.
The monitoring of Customer feedback, both positive and negative, has allowed Custom Covers to identify those wants and needs of most importance to the Customer and to use this information to carry out its' technical and design activities in line with this information.
The internal monitoring of the systems has allowed the company to ensure that its' staff are included within the process and ensure that, via appraisal, staff receive continuous development through the provision of training.
