Custom Covers' 900sqm stand at Showman's Show had a range of its frame marquees and transition pieces including 9m and 12m cruciform elements and a 9m "Tricone" (centre).

Southampton based marquee manufacturer Custom Covers
invested in a new high frequency welding machine in 2011, increasing production capacity by 20% in readiness for the expected spike in demand as tent suppliers confirm additional contracts for 2012. "The second half of 2011 was certainly affected by the euro crisis, but we're expecting this year to be busy," chief executive Robert Sanders says. "We've created the capacity and the orders are coming in."
The company has also been quick to respond to unusual requests, suppling a tensile fabric for the temporary bandstand commissioned by the Southbank Centre and RIBA London as part of last summer's Festival of Britain anniversary celebrations. "It was a short deadline but the brief was tight and we were delighted to be involved," said Simon Bell technical and production director.
