Custom Covers has installed a solar photovoltaic installation on the roof of their factory in Southampton.
MD Robert Sanders commented "We hope to significantly lower our electricy bill and help in a small way to combat the effects of climate change by generating our own clean energy"
The scheme (commissioned on February 28th) is a 4kw generating scheme which depending on sunshine will generate between 4000 and 4500 kw hours of electricity per year.
With energy bills on the rise it's nice to see the metre notching up free electricity as the sun shines; I'm hoping for a scorcher this summer. |
